SLOW FOOD GOES TO GALISTEO.,..

A LOVELY SLOW AFTERNOON

Galisteo, New Mexico is just a short drive from Santa Fe and is home to an amazing community of artists and writers. We were invited into the studio & gardens of  Clay Artist Priscilla Hoback - she shows at the Nedra Matteucci Gallery in Santa Fe - and  Deborah Madison - prolific cookbook author and long-time member of Slow Food, It was a wonderful afternoon that I captured with my camera...

Priscilla Hoback and Daughter Denise graciously welcomed us to Priscilla's gallery/ studio housed in the front rooms of a wonderful adobe house filled with art and a wonderful  patio and garden out back.

Priscilla's glazed clay murals are handsome and this one shows her
passion  for horses - she owns three beauties.

Her working studio is in the room adjacent to her gallery.

A charming patio and garden await out back.

And, lots of animals...

When we finished our tour of the gallery and studio we walked outside to the patio where we were served lovely sparkling wine and wonderful nibbles - prepared by Chef's from the Legal Tender Restaurant in Lamy...

Executive Chef, Charles Thompson

And, Sous Chef, Armand Saila

The appetizers were wonderful - the ingredients sourced from local growers.

Everyone had a fabulous time...

And a special thanks to Cookbook Author extraordinare Deborah Madison - founder of Slow Food Santa FE for showing us her gardens...

A GRAND TIME!

SLOW DRINKS & TOMME

Photos by C. Whitney-Ward

WHAT FUN!

SLOW DRINKS at Tomme, a chic, downtown restaurant was hopping. Chef Brian Rood was in the kitchen cooking up diminutive and delicious appetizers, Fiasco Fine Wines poured some nifty Bonnie Doone Wines, and owner Maria Renteria was greeting guests at each table. If you missed this one, make sure you don't miss the next SLOW DRINKS!

Thanks Chef Rood!
